Abona, the southern Guanche kingdom
The Guanche kingdom of Abona stretched along the entire southeast of Tenerife — from El Médano and Granadilla down to the Barranco del Río — ruled by mencey Adjoña in the 15th century. It was a land of transhumant shepherds where the sun rose first, before the rest of the island. The house carries that idea: the dawn.
The character of the house
Casa Abona is the most intimate of the four. Designed for couples coming for a real disconnect — no kids, no groups, no noise — for 3 to 7 nights. Its orientation captures the first daylight over Mount Teide.

In the village centre of El Tanque, Calle Granero 10, 760 m above sea level on Tenerife's northern strip. 15 min by car from Garachico, 50 min from Mount Teide National Park, 1 h from the Northern airport (TFN).
