Acentejo, where the first battle was fought
The Battle of Acentejo (1494) was the Castilian crown's only major defeat in the conquest of the Canaries — mencey Bencomo ambushed the army of Lugo in the Acentejo ravine, killing 900 of 1500 advancing men. Today the name 'Acentejo' belongs to the two heir municipalities: La Matanza and La Victoria. The house carries that character: small but firm, the latest to join.

In the village centre of El Tanque, Calle Granero 10, 760 m above sea level on Tenerife's northern strip. 15 min by car from Garachico, 50 min from Mount Teide National Park, 1 h from the Northern airport (TFN).
